CMSA National Webinar: Understanding HIV @ Virtual Event
Oct 26 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Our Understanding HIV and Resistance program includes a review of Ending the HIV Epidemic goals, overview of U=U, a discussion on reasons regimens fail, the need for new treatments, a quick review of Trogarzo®, and resources to educate and empower patients.
People living with HIV (PLWH) are living longer than ever before. Advances in antiretroviral therapy have helped to significantly increase the life expectancy of PLWH in recent years. The priorities of addressing the needs of PLWH has shifted from increasing their life expectancy to improving their quality of life.
So how can we support PLWH as they age?
In this webinar, we will discuss common lifestyle diseases and how they impact people living with HIV. We will also discuss tools that can be used to support PLWH as they age.

OBJECTIVES:

1. Describe the HIV Life Cycle
2. Identify HIV treatment options and how they work
3. Define HIV resistance and how multi-drug resistance develops
