This webinar will provide participants a detailed overview of the statute\, including eligibility criteria\, the request process\, documentation requirements\, mental health evaluation requirements\, and provider participation provisions. And will review how medical aid in dying fits within the broader landscape of end-of-life care in New York\, including hospice and palliative care services. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the presentation\, the participant should be able to: \n\nStatutory eligibility requirements: Review the core eligibility criteria outlined in the statute and help participants understand who may qualify under the law.\nThe oral and written request process: Describe the statute’s framework for oral and written requests so participants understand the overall process. The session will focus on what the law requires conceptually\, pending further regulatory detail.\nMental capacity evaluation standards: Examine the statute’s expectations around determining mental capacity. The health care market is tight\, and many health care organizations are merging to extend care options while maintaining budgets. This presentation will take a deep dive into one health organization’s workers compensation care delivery model that was initiated to improve return to work rates and customer satisfaction which ultimately led to increased revenue. Using statistics to drive value-based care and process improvement\, this program has forged a partnership with community businesses and workers compensation carriers to become a leading example of patient-centered care within the community. \nThe external workers compensation case management program brings in business while driving workplace metrics within the community. Acting as a community leader\, this program has evolved into a full-blown case management practice. This presentation will review the history of the present practice and future aspirations of the external workers compensation case management program developed to increase customer satisfaction and address loss of revenue. This will include addressing return to work issues\, care access\, and billing errors. He is interested in helping patients to find both surgical and nonsurgical solutions for all conditions affecting the neck and back.  He graduated from the US Naval Academy in Annapolis\, MD\, and served as a pilot in the US Navy. He went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati\, College of Medicine and completed residency at Michigan State University in Grand Rapids\, Michigan\, where he was named intern of the year.
