This session provides a practical introduction to artificial intelligence in healthcare, with a focus on what case managers need to understand today. The first half reviews key AI concepts, including the evolution of AI, how generative AI and large language models work, and important risks and limitations. The second half explores real-world applications relevant to case management, such as chart summarization, risk prediction, and workflow support. Participants will gain a clear, balanced understanding of how AI can augment care coordination while maintaining clinical judgement and human oversight.
