October 8 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

REGISTER HERE

Join CMSA Chicago to educate and provide insight into how to help resistant families receive help when there is an aging family member with a developmental disability.

Aging can be challenging enough but aging with an adult child with a disability can be daunting. This lecture will focus on aging parents as the primary caregiver for their adult disabled child, the reasons behind their resistance to support, and what case managers can do to assist in positive outcomes for both the aging parent and the aging adult with a disability.

Objectives:

  • Identify reasons why aging parents may not have made arrangements for their disabled children.
  • Describe the key factors that help this population of aging parents to achieve resilience.
  • Identify strategies to best support older adults to meet their needs and the needs of their disabled child.

Fees:
Member Ticket - $15
Guest Ticket - $35
Member (Remote) - $15
