It’s a foundation for acting ethically, for good relationships of many kinds, for loving well, and for professional success. Studies show that nurturing a more empathic relationship can lead to better outcomes for patients, fewer disputes with healthcare providers, and higher reimbursements due to greater patient satisfaction. On a more day-to-day basis, it also makes caring for patients a more rewarding experience. Join your peers for an interesting discussion that will provide information you can implement into your practice regardless of your setting. Learning Objectives: · Participants will be able to define Empathy Care and give direct life examples on how they have or have not been able to apply it in their patient/family care. · Participants will be able to relay case study examples of how empathy and/or the lack of empathy affected patients’ responsiveness to treatment and patient satisfaction. · Participants will be able to discuss and apply empathy concepts, including dignity, objectivity, and integrity, to the 8 principles of the Code of Professional Conduct for Case Managers.
