Dallas Fort Worth Chapter of CMSA: Sepsis & Trauma – What Frontline Providers Need to Know @ Virtual Event
Dec 7 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Although trends in sepsis mortality have generally improved over the years, this is not the case in the trauma population. According to a 2012-2016 analysis of the trends, cost, and mortality from sepsis after trauma in the United States, published in Critical Care Medicine in 2020, the risk of death in this population remains high. In this session hosted by Sepsis Alliance, Dr. Afshar—one of the study's co-authors—will discuss his retrospective cohort study and explore what the findings mean for frontline clinicians needing to recognize and care for sepsis patients following trauma.

CMSA National Webinar: Developing a Professional PowerPoint Presentation @ Virtual Event
Dec 15 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Regardless of professional experience, developing a presentation may not be as easy as one thinks. Good presentations are not text on slides which are read verbatim. Think of the presentation as story that needs to be told, and the story should hold the interest of the audience. A PowerPoint slide deck should communicate the goals of the story using images and data that reinforce the goals. The presenter tells the story and uses the slides to reinforce the message. This webinar will help you develop a clean and effective presentation using best practices for a PowerPoint presentation.

OBJECTIVES:

1. Analyze examples to avoid in presentations
2. Demonstrate best practices to deliver an intended message
3. Integrate the steps provided to produce an effective presentation

Presenter:
Joan Sevy Majers, DNP, RN, FACHE, CENP, CCM
