ABSTRACT:

All Parkinson’s Disease patients have Parkinsonism, but not all patients with Parkinsonism have Parkinson’s
Disease. In the clinical setting, it’s easy to get lost in the "trees"—the tremors, the slow gait, and the stiff
limbs. This talk provides the "aerial view" needed to distinguish the broad clinical syndrome of Parkinsonism
from the specific neurodegenerative pathologies hiding within it. By learning to see the forest for the trees,
clinicians and caregivers can better predict specific disease trajectories and craft the most appropriate
roadmaps for care.
