Case Management Week 2026. Celebrating Us!
Reconnect. Recognize. Reignite. Rise.
Four words. One powerful celebration of case management.
Case Management Week gives us an opportunity to pause and celebrate a profession that touches lives every single day. It is a time to reconnect with our purpose, recognize the people and contributions that make our profession extraordinary, reignite our passion, and rise together to meet the opportunities ahead.
Most of all, it is a time for Celebrating Us!
And one of the most meaningful ways we can celebrate is to RECOGNIZE.
Recognize Who We Are.
Recognize What We Do.
Recognize the Accomplishments.
Recognize the Impact.
Recognize the Value.
Recognize the Dedication.
Recognize the Difference We Make.
And Recognize Each Other.
Case Management Week is also an opportunity to recognize the people who walk this professional journey beside us. Think about the person who helped you when you were a new case manager and everything seemed unfamiliar.
Think about the colleague who always seems to know exactly what to say.
The person who answers your question without hesitation.
The coworker who makes you laugh on a difficult day.
The leader who saw potential in you before you saw it in yourself.
The experienced case manager who continues to share years of wisdom.
And the new case manager who reminds us to look at familiar challenges with fresh eyes.
Tell them what they mean to you.
Recognition does not require an award or a ceremony. Sometimes it is an email, a handwritten note, a phone call, or a few sincere words. Sometimes four simple words say everything: “I see what you do.” Imagine the impact if every case manager heard those words this week.
Recognize Yourself
There is someone else who deserves recognition during Case Management Week.
You.
Case managers are often much better at recognizing the accomplishments of others than acknowledging their own. We do not always stop to consider what we accomplished along the way.
This week, stop for a moment.
Think about the person you advocated for when their voice was not being heard.
Think about the barrier you removed.
Think about the difficult conversation you navigated.
Think about the colleague you encouraged.
Think about the knowledge you shared.
Think about the difference you made.
You may never know the full impact of every conversation, referral, intervention, or act of advocacy. But somewhere, someone may be doing better because you were their case manager.
Recognize that.
And celebrate it!
Recognize the Value of Case Management
As we recognize ourselves and one another, we must also continue helping others recognize the value of our profession. Case managers connect the pieces of an increasingly complicated healthcare system. We facilitate communication and transitions, coordinate resources, identify barriers, advocate for individuals and families, promote quality and safety, and help transform healthcare plans into plans that can actually work in people's lives.
That story deserves to be told. Share your successes. Demonstrate your outcomes. Mentor someone. Participate in your CMSA chapter. Volunteer. Write. Present. Lead. Tell someone what case management means and why it matters.
If we want others to recognize the value of case management, we must be willing to tell our story.
So, during Case Management Week 2026, let's recognize the new case manager who is just discovering the possibilities of this profession and the experienced case manager who has spent decades changing lives.
Let's recognize our mentors, colleagues, leaders, educators, innovators, advocates, volunteers, and CMSA chapters.
Let's recognize the quiet victories that happen every day.
Let's recognize the difference we make.
And yes, let's recognize ourselves.
Reconnect. Recognize. Reignite. Rise.
This month, we celebrate all four.
But today, let's RECOGNIZE.
Recognize each other.
Recognize our profession.
Recognize yourself.
Because case managers spend every day recognizing the needs, strengths, progress, and successes of others.
During Case Management Week, it's our turn.
Celebrate Us!
I am proud to be a Case Manager!
Happy National Case Management Week. This week, we RECOGNIZE the case managers who make a difference every day through advocacy, coordination, problem-solving, compassion and connection. CMSA has a full week of education and celebration planned, and we hope you'll be part of it. See the schedule: bit.ly/3PR89WG
