Rural residents face a daily challenge in accessing healthcare services and support as these areas have fewer healthcare providers, residents have limited access to specialized care, and often have no insurance coverage or limited coverage. Residents are required to travel longer distances for care with limited transportation options. Additionally, rural areas can have limited internet access, which then further challenges telehealth capabilities and thus treatment overall.
